At this point, i've decided to cut my losses and sell the receiver as-is rather than diagnosing it further. I always ship promptly. Buyers can be confident I will always follow these 5 rules:: make every effort to accurately describe each item in detail. I replaced the bad capacitor along with two neighboring capacitors of same rating; unfortunately, this did not fix problem.

I never overdrive the system and rarely used it for music. After about 12 years of use, the sound started occasionally cutting in and out. I treat every buyer with courtesy and respect. I removed the top cover and noticed a capacitor that was visibly bulging see photo.
