It is fully returnable if you aren't pleased with. I have shipped electronic gear all over the globe and do know how to pack for safe arrival. Its in very good condition, with only a couple marks that i've tried to capture the photos. I can provide the qa401 output graphs if desired the original jumpers are present and included.

Anyone who tells you that every capacitor has been tested is either lying or doesn't know what they're saying. The case on this 2080 is black. But such testing is critical to verify performance up factory specification. Many people skip this step because its time consuming.

This TR2080 has been fully restored by me. It could be refinished but I thought looked very good as is.

These tend to fail and I replace with Panasonic EC series. I use Nichiren muse, elan Islamic ii and Panasonic fr series, as appropriate to the location. Beauty is, of course, in the eye beholder.

Such restoration is critical for electronic gear that 40 years old. Many people are using stereo indicators that either too small inadequate light or large and create much heat. The speaker protection relay has been replace because these tend to fail after all years. This 2080 is significantly exceeding factory specification.

After restoration, the unit was tested with quaint asylum qa401 computerized audio analyzer. The bias is very stable and dc offset under 5mv. I stand behind my stuff 100.

Capacitors need to be removed from the circuit test capacitance and ESR. All lamps are replaced, including the stereo indicator, with correctly sized. Don't let anyone tell you that serviced and cleaned is enough. Certain components notably electrolytic capacitors are beyond their deign lifetime.

Tandberg TR2080 receiver I have owned and worked on marinates McIntosh gear since the 70s. Tandberg is known for its tuners and the FM section in this 2080 superb - probably better than marinates or McIntosh. I don't see any marks but it is a 40 plus year old unit and likely to show some signs of usage. These are proven to work well in audio gear and restore the sound original quality.

This is a complicated process but helps to ensure proper functioning for many More years. This receiver compares very well to the marinates 2270 and McIntosh mac4100. I am a big fan of Tandberg receivers. The restoration includes: cleaning inside and out, including all controls switches potentiates replacement of electrolytic capacitors.

It was a factory option and not often seen've never seen one before had to research determine factory-original. The face plate is in very good condition.

I use original equipment lamps to retain the dial color. Adjustment to spec according the service manual. These components may fail and damage other parts of the receiver. All the so-called tropical fish film capacitors except FM front end are replaced.
