It does power on. It is being held on by a middle screw. That is as far this unit has been tested there are missing small screws on the bottom plate.
I hooked up two speakers and tested it with FM radio worked great. I don't really know anything about this product. I've never heard of a Lafayette unit until I saw this. Otherwise it looks great.
